Hope
Helpful hands
Humans heard
Humble happiness
Harmony
Hearths heating hospitable homes
Hallowed heroes
Heads held high
Healthy humor harnessed habitually
Helping heal hurt hearts
Huge hypnotic horizons
Highly harboring
Hope
I wrote this poem recently to focus on the hope that the world needs right now and show what it means to me. I wanted to challenge myself to write something using only the letter H, since that’s what hope starts with. While not an easy task, I think this sums up my view of hope well. Hope is helping your neighbors, listening to others, staying kind to all. Hope is having courage and respecting the courage of others, not bringing them down, but lifting them up. Hope is finding humor in the hurt, in healthy ways, but also apologizing and humbling yourself if you cross a line. Hope is having the strength to help each other heal, hearing each other out, and respecting each other’s opinions. Hope is in the past and the present. It’s our jobs now to keep hope alive in the future!
